I'm not sure of the details, but I think Struve cleaned out their building via dumpster. I drove by one Sunday about a month ago and saw a huge construction dumpster behind the building filled with colorful wood. However, I was running my daughter to a destination and forgot about swinging by on the way back. The second floor looks awfully empty through windows from the street. I have no idea if anything good was tossed. I've never been above the ground floor of that building myself. They've always treated me like crap every time I've asked.
I've been up on the second floor a few times and the results were pretty mixed. One time I went they had several really nice games that were "awaiting some repair" but they weren't for sale. Other times it was shelled out JAMMA cabs and pretty generic stuff. The last time I was there they had a near-flawless Joust that someone had dropped off for repair but never came back and paid the bill. I told them to call me if they decided to sell it, but I didn't hear back. I called out of the blue to check up on it, and they said that they had sold it a couple of days earlier. I'll miss having Struve around because they actually liked me for some dumb reason. They'd give me good deals on games, and I got to poke around in their spare parts section from time to time. When they shut down I was really surprised they didn't give me a call, because I was always willing to throw money their way to take projects off of their hands. It's a shame if they trashed those cabs. On Mon, Apr 18, 2011 at 11:13 AM, Pete Ashdown <pashdown@xmission.com>wrote:

I got my WhiteWater from Struve, its the only time I ever got up to the 2nd floor. No, check that, Kurt Mahan took me up there once too, I think. They had some good stuff up there, and when I bought my WH20 they left me alone for about ½ hour up there. I roamed around and there were several games I would have taken home for a low price, but nothing that I remember as being really desirable. No EDOTs, SW cockpits, Laser games, Major Havocs or the like. Several nice Pole Positions (I have a weak spot for PP), quite a few pins, lots of JAMMA 25 inch stuff, a clean Space Duel, etc. I am guessing that, given Struves rep for not giving away anything, all the stuff was hauled to an auction and what had no value was junked. I would have liked to have first crack at the junk pile though. --Sean McLachlan From: utvgg-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utvgg-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Jeff Rivera Sent: Tuesday, April 19, 2011 9:12 AM To: Pete Ashdown Cc: UtVgG Subject: Re: [UtVgG] ...as if millions of games cried out at once Yeah, they closed down 2-3 months ago.
Sean, I may be bugging you soon about the White Water. I got my own and I'm going to be doing a full restore on it, playfield swap included. If I run into issues, expect me to nag at you to answer a question or two... On Tue, Apr 19, 2011 at 11:40 AM, Sean McLachlan <sean@lithoflexo.com>wrote:

Yep, I bought a playfield that I'll be putting into my machine and taking the old one out. The old one has some wear, but it's not too bad and I think someone with a nice touch could probably restore it easily enough. I'm not sure if I'm going to hang onto it or sell it to recoup some cost yet. I'm going all out on the restore, which I hope to get started next weekend when I get back from Hawaii.
