Wow, Chris! That's great! Some one give me a memory check on this. Is this what you guys remember? I know Pete went there, anyone else? > It seems to me the x-roads mall had a stylized pic of a mining cart on > it also, but it's been a long time.
I *know* it was remodeled at least twice, and I remember a sign change. I think this sign might be the older one, though I'm not sure. I remember a cart at some point. I think it may have been a "Tilt" at one time as well. Same company. I used to go there, mainly in 1983-1986 when I was shopping for Atari 800 software at Video Concepts (just below Radio Shack on the second floor, next to Sunset Sports that later became Borders). The Crossroads Mall Gold Mine is where I was introduced to Peter Packrat. -Chris

The Crossroads Mall Gold Mine is where I was introduced to Peter Packrat. -Chris Funny how we associate places where we were first introduced to some of these games. I remember where we first saw the new arcade games. I first saw Peter Packrat (and Road Runner) at the Pier 39 arcade in SF. Journey and Tron (other faves) was at Southland mall in Hayward. Space Invaders was in the basement of Sears at the same mall. I think one of the most interesting things though is I remember playing a Tempest Prototype at Farrell's Ice Cream at my friend Jeffrey's Birthday party. It had large track ball (like atari football) instead of the spinner. I think all of my previous arcade haunts have gone the way of the dinosaur except one or two and they were out of the way places that we only went on special occasions (like the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk Arcade, and it was looking pretty rough the last time I went there a couple of years ago. _______________________________________________ UtVgG mailing list UtVgG@mailman.xmission.com http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/utvgg
