Ok, so I've been trying to hunt down a Star Wars and I was just checking to see if you guys felt that this was fair. The guy is willing to sell it to me that will put the final price (shipping included) at just around $700. The game is working well, has recently had the board serviced, and the monitor is looking good. Here are a few pics: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/jar155/BYOAC/7e856a39.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/jar155/BYOAC/03d95e6e.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/jar155/BYOAC/2f7e852e.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v236/jar155/BYOAC/412a8cc6.jpg Any opinions? Also, I'm looking for a Spy Hunter. Just a heads up on that one... -- ---Jeff Rivera--- jeff@i4.net jar155@gmail.com jar155@yahoo.com
The sideart looks better than a lot I've seen -- there is the usual scratching/scuffing but nothing that really stands out. No wood chunks missing (which can be annoying). It's hard to tell, but the tmolding might need some work -- might be a bit of pulling away on the lower right side, upper right near the marquee -- cheap and easy to do. Got all colors in the screen shot, along with things that need the math box. Without a closeup it is tough to tell what condition of the artwork on the controller (which usually gets scratched up), but it looks to be complete. Coindoor is dirty, but can't tell if it is damaged - right side between the two doors. The marquee looks complete (no obvious taping, missing pieces) -- but from these pics it is tough to tell whether there is any cracking. What kind of monitor? If it's a WG does it have any mods done to extend its life? (capkit, lv2000, etc..) Where's it shipping from? Depending on whether the guy has experience shipping games I'd get him to open it up and make sure everything is firmly attached, and all loose objects like castors, quarters, keys are removed. I haven't been keeping up with prices (Sean?) but if shipping is included it seems pretty reasonable for a working game. --Kurt Jeff Rivera wrote:

It sure seems the price of games has gotten weird lately. Some good solid classics are down, others are still high. No real rhyme or reason. Post '86 games are on the rise big time. Star Wars seems to be hanging pretty steady at 6 to $800, depending. The pics look OK, but I'd get close up (nothing else in the pic, top-middle-and bottom sides-marquee-screen-cp-kickplate-back of monitor-bottom inside), full rez before I sent any money. The devil is in the details, but if the monitor has been rebuilt (new flyback for an Amp, LV2000 for a WG, capkit for both), and the condition rates an 8 or better, $700 to a loading dock in SLC sounds like a good deal over all. Look for bad cracking on the bottom of the marquee and CPO, beat up yoke sticker (repro available), and ask if all 4 yoke buttons work. Might as well know as much as possible. Condition is King, everything else can be fixed. Since everything appears to be working, you are good on that front. And the last time I shipped a game (3 years ago) , it was through forward air with a place called Stone Path Logistics palletizing, wrapping and taking it to the terminal. Cost about $175, and that was to Northern Cal for an Asteroids. Shipping has to be more now. Doesn't change the final cost, but the seller for sure isn't asking high book. -- Sean McLachlan Jeff Rivera wrote:
