So - Should I keep an eye out for "Far trade, warehouses of video games"? Actually, it's been years and years since you let us see all those games, and I've gotten super disconnected from ya'll. My Fiancee is trying to get me more games. On Sun, Jun 19, 2016 at 2:03 PM, Pete Ashdown <pashdown@xmission.com> wrote:

The guy "gladly accepted" the coins of neighbor kids to play his console games? Boo-urns. Other than that, though, I feel his pain. My impression was that he was selling the actual games to the kids, rather than charging for gameplay?

Well, if that's the case then I approve. ;-) And you make a good point about how other people see our games. I realized a while ago that when people come over and say "Wow, that's so cool!" it doesn't mean that they attach a non-zero value to my stuff or even want to play them. They just want me to feel good I think. I grok that. Or, they are really neat, as long as they are somewhere else. A lot of people want the games, but they don't want the hassle, expense, or real-estate the games require. I own them, but they certainly also own me. At this point, games are expensive when you want to buy them and (frequently) considered junk when you wish to sell them. Like boats or jewelry. I've been badly wanting a Sprint, Sprint 2 or Video Pinball. But once you add on shipping, the asking price is over $1000. At this point, with the massive load of Atari computers and the arcade games I already own, it's just too much. -Chris
I have a whole bunch of Atari console and computer stuff that I've tried unsuccessfully to trade for arcade machines and ham radio equipment. I guess none of us should expect other people to value our treasures like we do. :)
