Re: [UtVgG] I can haz cabaret Centipede?
Yeah, I had an upright and sold it, now I think I am going to put together a lineup of the Atari 19" monitor mini's. My monitor on my Spy Hunter smoked out a couple of weeks ago. I've not seen what the LCDs look like in the classics, is it pretty bad? I do need to get that game up and going again, it's my son's favorite game in my lineup. I just don't know if I need to chase down a nice old school monitor or just finally allow one of those dirty LCDs into my home. What monitor is in there? Most problems easily fixable by ordering a shotgun type repair kit. If you haven't ever fixed a monitor, now is the time! I don't know what monitor is in there, and I haven't opened it up to inspect the actual damage yet. I have only done cap kits on monitors, nothing more intense than that. I'd kinda like to find a better tube anyway, mine has some burn in and you notice it during the water sections. On Wed, Nov 27, 2013 at 10:59 AM, Sean McLachlan <sean@lithoflexo.com>wrote:

If you want to replace a monitor with burn, now is a good time to do it. The LCDs don't look right, but you know that and for $250 Wells Gardner has a new drop in replacement. Kinda hard to argue with the simplicity and you could always put another CRT back in later if you decided to. I replaced the CRT with an LCD in my MAME cab last month. Bugged me for 5 minutes, now I think it's fine. Where can you buy new WG's?
You can buy a new WG LCD monitor from their website that is a drop in replacement for an old broken and burnt CRT like Jeff has. I don't know of anywhere you can buy new CRT's.
