Re: [UtVgG] UtVgG Digest, Vol 42, Issue 1
Hey Sean, I have done a tube swap on a 6100 before. Pretty easily swapped out but the convergence is a bitch to do. I have a tube here with almost no burn that we could work something out for if you need one. I probably have a spare working 6100. Not sure on that but I know I have two spare working Amps. Hit the large size pics, the small ones don't do this justice. It's not perfect, of course, and the monitor was gone with the game boards. PS, AR I, etc are there though. I did find a complete WG6100, but it's got a lot of Space Duel burn. Might try a tube swap, if I can find a tube. Anyone done a tube swap here?
Kurt, I'm glad I haven't returned your tempest boards yet!

There is a local place that deals in new tubes for obscure old monitors, I was even able to find a new tube for the Star trek. I can't remember the name of the place but it is located on 900 West and about 2900 South on the west side of the street. Where did you get the Tempest cocktail Weber music had one years ago, maybe it's the same one?
Speaking of Tempest my favorite place to get my gaming fix (Nicklemania in Murray) has a pristine Tempest now. Perfect side art and a crisp new monitor. I talked to the owner and he's been collecting for about 7 years. He started out by buying out a central Utah operator (Richfield, Fillmore, Ely Nv etc) and bought Nicklemania 2 years ago. I didn't talk to him about any interest in selling anything because I'm not in the market but he seems to really operate out of love of the games. He said he HATES redemption but that't where his money comes from. It makes it possible to maintain the classics which I've raved about before.
Also, there is a new arcade on the west side (At Valley Fair called The Game Grid) just a couple of classics, but mostly newer stuff (Asteroids deluxe, 1942 dedicated, Crystal Castles in pristine shape, and a Warlords cocktail.) He also has a laser-disk(esque)animated prototype that was pretty neat too called "The Act". It's actually hard drive based, but still is interactive in the old school sense.

It's located right next to Red Robin enter from the outside of the mall. Go spend a few bucks it's a dark old school type place. Might be a good place to do a UTVGG lunch.

Sounds like Ballard Supply. I'll go down and see what they can scrounge up. I got the cocktail from a guy who bought out a storage unit and this was in it. I think David Young got the nice Tempest from Weber. He had a very nice one a bit ago, anyway.

Did anybody hear about my Spy Hunter story? I picked the thing up in Las Vegas and noticed that it had stickers from a beauty supply place in Bountiful (Classy Chassis Beauty Supply) on the sideart. Initially I thought, "huh, there must be a chain of those things in the West." Anyway, after cleaning it up and playing it, I decided to Google "Classis Chassy Beauty Supply" and found that there's only one! Well, I figure that this was the very same Spy Hunter that used to be in the little Fred Meyer arcade just half a mile from Classy Chassis that I used to play every Saturday growing up. I can't be 100% certain that it's the same machine, but the stickers really solidify the chances.
Now I'm more in love with the machine than I probably should be...especially given the monitor sync issues it's tormenting me with.
