I'm taking a trailer and my 9-year-old son (for the first time) tomorrow morning! Anyone else going?
I'm going next year with my wife and boy. This year doesn't quite work for us to hit the shows. Next year we're planning on CAX, one of the big pinball expos, and I go to E3 every year as a journalist. Should make for a fun year, but I'd love to be at CAX this year. It sounds like a good haul of games will be down there. On Thu, Jul 9, 2009 at 10:42 AM, Pete Ashdown <pashdown@xmission.com> wrote:

I'm leaving for my wedding on Saturday, going the wrong direction.

Yeah, I left it open on purpose, given the rich Corinthian humor possibilities. I am looking forward to my new wife and the wedding, but I've reached the "I can't stand any more" point of the wedding. I've told her we have to make the marriage work, as I won't go through another wedding. The last two months have been basically me putting out fires. Sean McLachlan wrote:
Congratulations! Where are you getting married, what's her name, where you honeymooning, no UtVgG invite?, etc, etc.
Yes, I am getting married to Carole Lee in Chattanooga Tennessee on the 19th. In time, once I can get my place sold, she'll move to Salt Lake and we'll have a party here. Given the economy, I did not want to ask too many people to fly all the way back there. Sorry I did not tell everyone; this happened rather quickly. Things turned serious in November, engaged in December and getting married in a week. But we've known each other for many years. I'm trying to finish a product design, sell my condo, move out all my property that people think is weird (no Atari room, no room full of racks, and all but one arcade game out) from my place...all at the same time. If I was in charge, the wedding would be at the top of the Snowbird tram. Easy enough for all but the most elderly to reach, yet still in my mountains. But Carole wanted it in Chattanooga, and since I'm making her move all the way out here, that's the least I can do. As part of the marriage, there has been a full disclosure made of my hobby and the horrific storage needs. She claims to like them, and was actually considering buying a Moon Patrol for me, which was sweet.
Wait... you didn't find a state that would legally marry you to your Peter Packrat, did you?
If I was to marry a machine, it would probably be Colleen the Atari 800. Unlike Holly's experienc with the Sinclair ZX-81, Colleen was not cheap and she would always load...at least for me*. -Chris * = non Red Dwarf fans can ignore all that.
