http://www.flickr.com/photos/28458225@N06/ Hit the large size pics, the small ones don't do this justice. It's not perfect, of course, and the monitor was gone with the game boards. PS, AR I, etc are there though. I did find a complete WG6100, but it's got a lot of Space Duel burn. Might try a tube swap, if I can find a tube. Anyone done a tube swap here? Kurt, I'm glad I haven't returned your tempest boards yet! -- Sean
There is a local place that deals in new tubes for obscure old monitors, I was even able to find a new tube for the Star trek. I can't remember the name of the place but it is located on 900 West and about 2900 South on the west side of the street. Where did you get the Tempest cocktail Weber music had one years ago, maybe it's the same one? Speaking of Tempest my favorite place to get my gaming fix (Nicklemania in Murray) has a pristine Tempest now. Perfect side art and a crisp new monitor. I talked to the owner and he's been collecting for about 7 years. He started out by buying out a central Utah operator (Richfield, Fillmore, Ely Nv etc) and bought Nicklemania 2 years ago. I didn't talk to him about any interest in selling anything because I'm not in the market but he seems to really operate out of love of the games. He said he HATES redemption but that't where his money comes from. It makes it possible to maintain the classics which I've raved about before. Also, there is a new arcade on the west side (At Valley Fair called The Game Grid) just a couple of classics, but mostly newer stuff (Asteroids deluxe, 1942 dedicated, Crystal Castles in pristine shape, and a Warlords cocktail.) He also has a laser-disk(esque)animated prototype that was pretty neat too called "The Act". It's actually hard drive based, but still is interactive in the old school sense. http://gamegridarcade.com/arcadegames.html It's located right next to Red Robin enter from the outside of the mall. Go spend a few bucks it's a dark old school type place. Might be a good place to do a UTVGG lunch. -----Original Message----- From: utvgg-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utvgg-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Sean McLachlan Sent: Wednesday, July 09, 2008 2:40 PM To: UtVgG Subject: [UtVgG] New Tempest cocktail at Sean's house. http://www.flickr.com/photos/28458225@N06/ Hit the large size pics, the small ones don't do this justice. Sounds like Ballard Supply. I'll go down and see what they can scrounge up. I got the cocktail from a guy who bought out a storage unit and this was in it. I think David Young got the nice Tempest from Weber. He had a very nice one a bit ago, anyway. -- Sean
Did anybody hear about my Spy Hunter story? I picked the thing up in Las Vegas and noticed that it had stickers from a beauty supply place in Bountiful (Classy Chassis Beauty Supply) on the sideart. Initially I thought, "huh, there must be a chain of those things in the West." Anyway, after cleaning it up and playing it, I decided to Google "Classis Chassy Beauty Supply" and found that there's only one! Well, I figure that this was the very same Spy Hunter that used to be in the little Fred Meyer arcade just half a mile from Classy Chassis that I used to play every Saturday growing up. I can't be 100% certain that it's the same machine, but the stickers really solidify the chances. Now I'm more in love with the machine than I probably should be...especially given the monitor sync issues it's tormenting me with. No one cares. This is all about how awesome my new Tempest is. :-P What would really be cool, is if the Classy Chassis bought that SH from the op who had previously placed it when new at the Smiths Food King on Orchard drive. Then it would be the same game that both of us played. BTW, I've probably asked you this before but I have a bad memory. Did you go to school in Bountiful? What year did you graduate? Sean
Yeah, I'm a Bountiful boy. I graduated from BHS in '99. I figure I'm one of the younger fellas on here. On Wed, Jul 9, 2008 at 2:31 PM, Sean McLachlan <sean@lithoflexo.com> wrote:

Sweet. BHS 1988 over here. Youth is good. Think of all the great games you'll be able to buy from our widows. -- Sean Jeff wrote:
