I just thought I would check in with everyone to see if anyone is making the trip to San Jose next weekend. I will be in the Bay Area Friday through Monday and at the show all day Saturday. I actually got a hotel in San Jose accross the street from Parc Plaza (where the show is held) and have a spare bed so if someone needs to crash there LMK (nc). I'm looking forward to the show this year, this is my 5th year and it just seems to be more fun every year. Tickets to Oakland are cheap now $89 to $120 on Southwest and commuter rail (Capitol Corridor) runs from the Coluseum BART station to 5 blocks from the venue. Also, I took a trip to the Pacific NW Seattle and Portland over the 24th weekend. Literally the highlight was visiting Ground Kontrol in Portland. That place is a true gem on any level. There seemed to be about a hundred games/Pinball all in great working condition. There was only one game out of order and it was Star Trek and we all know how that goes. Seems to be a shame there is not a resourse like that around here. They have been around for a few years and just recently added an alcohol license to sell beer after 7 pm. It really was like stepping back to 1982. I was there mid afternoon and there were about a half dozen people playing games. I wish I could have spent more time but I had family obligations (wife and baby took a nap in the car) I will go back there next time I visit Portland. http://www.groundkontrol.com/arcade/index.php
