Did you check the last couple of games you worked on? I've noticed that my tools sometimes creep back into them and hide there. I've been quite happy with my old Fluke. It's tested gravity countless times (always seems to work). Being bright yellow it's pretty easy to spot. Doesn't eat batteries very fast. I've got a couple sets of test probes -- the "standard" ones (good for 99% of tasks) and a set of pomona ones that have very fine, spring mounted points on them (good for probing on boards..) Also the HV probe plugs right into it. I've been quite happy with it. I've got a couple of others -- some really cheap ones that get thrown in the car/loaned out/etc.. If they bite the dust it's not a big loss (back to Harbor Freight for some more..) Kurt On Mon, Oct 25, 2004 at 02:31:38PM -0600, Sean McLachlan wrote:
An unusual thing happened at my house recently. A hole developed in the fabric of space-time, and sucked my multimeter into another dimension. I figured I'd just build a quick warp core to re-open the rift, but I can't build a warp core without a multimeter, so I am resigned to buying a new one. My old DMM (http://tinyurl.com/5wtuz) was a decent one from Radio Shack, even had a built in logic probe. I'm happy with it, but I thought I'd ask if anyone had any other suggestions for a good one in the $70-or-less range.
Thanks guys.
