The thin horizontal line means that the Vertical Deflection on the monitor is kaput.  Google the monitor model + vertical deflection and you will most likely get specific instructions on how to fix it.  I think you can also shotgun it with a complete rebuild kit from Bob Roberts, but most likely it's just the vertical output transistor that has failed.  Caps, burnt resistors, failed solder joints and failed vertical size pots are also possible culprits.

Did moving the pins cause the knee problem, or was that coincidental?

It sounds like you might have some broken solder joints or some failing capacitors. I would check your solder joints and reflow anything that looks suspect. Also make sure that no solder pads have lifted. A cap kit might be a good idea as well. If you've never done one, it's probably time anyway.

Also check to see if the adjustment pots on your monitor are doing ok.

So.

I've been gone a long time.  Hopefully I don't disappear into the ether again.

I moved into a house, got all 14 pins into the basement, had to get one knee scoped.

Oh, the fun the joy, the medical bills.

I have a Killer Instinct 2. The game boots, I can hear the sounds, but I just get a thin horizontal line with some color in it.  Sits smack dab in the middle of the screen.

Any pointers on how to fix this (I am a pin puke)

Chris
