recommended worked like a charm and only cost $15. It does have a "made in 1996" stamp on it though. Never been used, but still, the things already 9 years old!
By Ra-Elco standards, it's screamin' new! It was a high-quality PS when built, though. Unlike a lot of the generic "replacement arcade switchers" which were designed to be cheap. I went over the technical documentation and this is a really nice supply. Plus it has OVP cutoff at 5.6V on the 5V line, a lot of the arcade supplies don't. In a few years, any Ra-Elco have left might be too old to use after cooking in their building. But they are fairly fresh; I think the came out of American Laser when they shut down...that's where Ra-Elco got the decent big caps. Seriously though you do have to be careful there, in particular when buying capacitors as the Ra-Elco new stock might be older than the ones you're replacing. -Chris
