Checked out some games in the classifieds

I thought that I'd give a report on some of the games I'd seen recently in person that are currently listed on the classifieds. Just yesterday I went out to Riverton to see the cabinets that Sam is selling on KSL (Mortal Kombat 3 in a generic cab, Rastan, A.P.B.), and they were a little disappointing. The MK3 cab is pretty beat up, but structurally ok, but the monitor is suffering from some geometry issues. I guess that wouldn't be too hard to work on. The Rastan wouldn't fire up, and you could see a good amount of burn-in on the monitor. The A.P.B. is what took me out there. It plays well, but the cabinet is very dirty. It's been sitting in his shop and is covered in grime. You get restore it, but you'd be looking at a full artwork replacement and a lot of cleaning up. The most disappointing part was the price. After negotiating a "price break" for taking all three he wanted $1000. Individually he wanted at least $400 each, with the A.P.B. being "significantly" more. If anybody wants an A.P.B. bad enough, you can check it out. I just found it to be too much. The MK3 and Rastan probably aren't worth the time unless you can talk the price down. Did you ever do anything with that Robby Roto/Tron cabaret you wanted to put a Ms. Pac into? I'd still like to find a mini Tron for a good price. I've given up on having a wood shop build the cab. Too much hassle and expense, and then I still have to source every part. Ugh. Once another mini Tron CP comes up on ebay, I'll get excited again, but then get outbid. Last time I bid $130 (for just a populated CP!) and still got outbid. Jeez, you'd think Tron joysticks were made of gold. -- Sean McLachlan

Movie Review: King of Kong

In a nutshell: Mucho Bueno. This show was way better than it should have been. The cast of characters was great. You've got this normal guy, Steve Wiebe, who figures that since he sent in a video tape showing he scored over 1,000,000 points in DK, that he'll take the record high score. The punchline is, everyone else involved either takes this *way* too seriously, is nuts, or both. There were 23 people in the 7:15 showing on Friday night, so it's not making big dough, but it should. You end up really rooting for the protagonist, and the Twin Galaxy guys go to great, and obvious, lengths to keep Steve from the title. You have never seen a bigger Tool, with a capital T, than Brian Kuh. Billy Mitchell shows what a classy guy he is, and Mr. Awesome, is, well, words escape me. Oh, and Mitchell's wife is worth the price of admission by herself. Really gives you some insight into Billy's psyche, knowing he's married to a gal like that. Make sure you see this movie, via theater, DVD or Bittorrent. It stops being about a video game, and is a just a great story. -- Sean McLachlan

I'm looking for a dead Joust. It can even be just the wood, although a good coindoor & mechs would be nice. It will be converted to a multigame, so please don't give me something that I'd feel bad about painting.

I should be more specific. The guy was a bit of a jerk and he wanted to sell the whole thing instead of pieces of it. However, I know others have extracted stuff out of there. Looking for a Neo Geo cab

Does anybody know where I can get a Neo Geo cab? I would prefer a 4-slot, but a 2 or 6 would do... Also, I'm looking for a could of generic cabs or Jamma pcb swappers, with or without a monitor.
