Outstanding Patrick! - Kurt P.S. - YouTube vid on making animated gifs with Photoshop http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z93Z1v5dypE&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUtpJ5T3QRA Other online how tos for Photoshop http://www.digitalscrapbookplace.com/university/tutorials/ps_animatedgif_ab.... http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/photoshop/l/blfishani1.htm In AIP4WIN has a utility to take jpgs and turn them into animations. I also use a $20 utility called Easy Gif anmiator. http://www.blumentals.net/egifan/ It's simple and easy to use. Takes about 5 minutes to learn. P.P.S. - From SLC I took at look at 0:45. No clouds, but there was still so much water vapor in the air that I couldn't make out the Double Cluster, so I bagged it. ____________________________________________________________________________________ Never miss a thing. Thanks but luck and persistence had more to do with it than anything else. I waited around the house until 10:00 and finally gave up and drove into Tooele for dinner only to come out after to mostly clear skies. So I raced home and threw open the roof (I'm glad I shoveled the snow off earlier in the day). Then there was the fact the elements I download last night were already off by about 2' of arc so I ended up just pointing the camera where I thought (hoped) TU24 would be and just started shooting as fast as the camera would take and download them while repointing the scope until I finally had TU24 entering the field at just the right place. All told I shot a bit over 300 pictures.

I don't blame you. As you can see from the pictures the seeing was awful. But, as I said before, I feel lucky I got what I did. BTW, my first attempt at a "movie" is posted to: http://users.wirelessbeehive.com/~paw/temp/TU24-6.GIF It's only 6 frames and it's already at nearly 2 megs so I don't think I'll be using all 25 in the finished product. And if anyone is interested in making a movie of their own, I've posted all 25 images in an 8 meg ZIP file at: http://users.wirelessbeehive.com/~paw/temp/2007TU24ANIMATE.ZIP patrick p.s. Thanks to Dave Bennett for pointing me to Photoshop for the animation software.
