Re: [Utah-astronomy] LCROSS Guide to observing and imaging
With respect to my slide presentation regarding the LCROSS impact posted yesterday, I have made a number of revisions. The link urls are the same, but I recommend that persons who download the presentation before the date and timestamp of this message, should download the revised version: MS Powerpoint version (10 meg) http://members.csolutions.net/fisherka/astronote/observed/LCROSS/20090915LCR... http://tinyurl.com/pbb7pw Slide presentation as PDF file (12 meg) http://members.csolutions.net/fisherka/astronote/observed/LCROSS/20090916LCR... http://tinyurl.com/pfujnv in directory: http://members.csolutions.net/fisherka/astronote/observed/LCROSS/ The updated version contains, among other things, workflow checklists that suggest arriving 90 minutes before the impact for visual observing setup and 120+ minutes before impact for imaging. - Kurt
Hi, New info is out about 2007's spectacular comet, 17/P Holmes, which underwent an outburst that brightened it by a millionfold in one day. I've just filed a blog about new findings on the outburst, and I stuck in a photo I took with my LX200GPS 12". I'd invite all to see it and comment (started to write comet) on it at: http://www.deseretnews.com/blogs/1,5322,10000034,00.html Thanks, Joe
