Re: RE: [Utah-astronomy] Was M27 Image, now stuck in Orlando
You could do a story on the physics of surfing. It could be awhile till the shuttle lifts off. Debbie

Quoting Joe Bauman <bau@desnews.com>:
The problem is I can't afford to take time away from the story -- I have to be at NASA press h.q. much of the day waiting for press conferences that never happen on time, then I have to drive back to my hotel, edit photos and send them in, then write my story and send it in. By the time I finish with that it's late at night. I can't afford to stray away in the mornings because of the demands of breaking news. And to be frank I never enjoy myself in another city without my wife -- poor me -- Joe
You're giving the press a bad name... ;)

I'm home! Taking a couple of days off now. Hooray! -- Joe
That was pretty fast Joe. Who did you get to bring the car back? ;) Quoting Joe Bauman <bau@desnews.com>:

Ah, this good old dry heat is so much nicer than Fla.'s sauna ... Although the Mesquite roast seems a little excessive! -- Joe
Aloha A few days ago I received the Celestron Ci-700 drive I bought on line and had shipped to me. It arrived poorly packed and severely damaged w/ no instructions or documentation. Is there anyone that has had this drive, has parts for this Ci700 or has knowledge about it?? I have to replace the worms on both axis', both stepper motors and associated gearing (is this part of the stepper assembly??) and few other small machined parts. The drive took a good hit and I could use any help getting it to a good working order. I do have detailed image files of the damage if anyone is interested. Aloha and Mahalo Rob
Rob, I wouldn't waste too much time looking for info from hacks like myself. Rather, I think you should just call Scott Losmandy directly at Hollywood General and get help from the master. I have always found him to be very helpful. I'm sure that he could tell you exactly how to proceed, especially if you sent him photos of the damage. Good Luck! Won't the extra money you paid for insurance cover the damage?
He did not insure the drive so he will get it back and I'll get my $$ back. Live and learn ....... and PACK WELL!! Aloha Rob
