Here are a few shots of the "F/40 project"; suitable for framing, or wrapping fish:
Shot 002: The assembled tube on a high-tech terrestrial mount, for looking at the Wasatch mountains across the valley.
Shot 005: Focuser-end view of the tube assembly on high-tech mount. 40mm Kellner eyepiece in star diagonal.
Shot 007: Side view of the focuser end. I had to use 2 extension tubes plus a star diagonal in order to reach focus, even with a main tube over six feet long.
Shot 006: The tube assembly on top of the luggage rack of our Subaru Forester, to get an idea of the tube length.
The OTA does double-duty on Flag Day & other federal holidays. ;o)
