For those that are not familiar with it, DXCC #1 Honor Roll is the pinnacle of ham radio DXing (making contacts with remote locations). Kay is among just a few hundred hams who have contacted all 341 entities/countries around the world. This is no easy feat and typically requires years of effort, a lot of patience and planning, a great radio set up, and sometimes a bit of luck. I'm getting close to DXCC (100 entities) after a few months of being a ham, but I can hardly dream of getting all 341, especially with several of the entities (like Yemen and North Korea, where no ham has been contacted is several years) being nearly impossible to get today. Congratulations to Kay! That is a remarkable achievement. On 12/31/11, Jared Smith <jared@smithplanet.com> wrote:

Kay, I meant absolutely no disrespect by my comment. After 50 some years myself, I truly recognize the immensity of your achievement. Those who know me, know that I try to crack wise. Happy New Year to you and to all the list members! 73, lh K7BPV (go Utes!) On 12/31/2011 9:34 AM, Jared Smith wrote:

Understatement of the year! ;-) Overheard at the last L&O subcommittee meeting: Person A, after Larry posits on a topic: "Larry is full of great ideas!" Person B, in response: "Yeah, he's full of something..." (And both admire him greatly, BTW...)
What more can I say? Tnx, Chuck. 73, lh On 12/31/2011 5:03 PM, Chuck Hards wrote:
