This will be going out in the next issue of News, but it's such a nice picture I thought those on this list might want to see it right away. Looks so close that when I first saw it I wanted to ask "Are we there yet?" :-) Patrick
Patrick, I can't see it -- did you forget to send the pic along? Thanks, Joe Joe Bauman science & military reporter Deseret News bau@desnews.com (801) 237-2169
See what happens when I try to do things when the Sun is *above* the horizon? :-) Here's the link I forgot to include: http://photojournal.jpl.nasa.gov/catalog/PIA02884 Patrick Joe Bauman wrote:

OK, Patrick, just out of curiosity: Why is Saturn off-kilter in relation to the rings? Is it because Cassini is coming at it from a different angle than we ever see it? But it seems to me we should be able to see it off-kilter too depending on the geometry of the planets' orbits ... I am stumped. -- Joe Joe Bauman science & military reporter Deseret News bau@desnews.com (801) 237-2169
Joe, Just how do you mean Saturn being off-kilter? It seems perfectly centered within the rings if you take in account the shadowed limb of Saturn. dlb On Saturday, November 2, 2002, at 06:29 PM, Joe Bauman wrote:

Hummmm -- I bet you're right. Somehow it still looks a tiny bit off to me -- but that must be an optical illusion because of the shadows. Thanks, Joe Joe Bauman science & military reporter Deseret News bau@desnews.com (801) 237-2169
