Quite a turn-out last night at SPOC! The sky was covered with high cirrus until about ten and not very dark, but it was better than a rain storm. It really improved just as Erik and I closed-up and left. Whoever that last hardy soul was who had a personal telescope on the grass probably had the best views of the night. I left my Caldwell & Messier cards, as well as my mini-planisphere at SPOC, either in the control room or the 32" bay. I'll try and cruise out there later today to retrieve them. They are inside a black-covered copy of the Grim operator's manual that I brought with me. And thanks to the Blanchards for some yummy treats!
Chuck, If you don't want to make a special trip, I am going to give refresher training tomorrow night and can pick them up then if you would like. In any event, I will look for them when I go out and let you know. Thanks for the offer Rodger, but I already drove out there. No bother at all if I have the time and I take the Mazda. I found my Grim operator's manual and my Caldwell and Messier cards, but the Miller mini-planisphere was gone. Apparently somebody beat me to it, darnit. I've had that for nearly 20 years. It was probably a member of the general public who nabbed it and I just didn't notice that it wasn't with the cards when I was closing-up. BTW, the top shelf that the red tool box sits on (drive power switch) is broken on the right side. It's a cheesy plastic shelf and has failed. Erik made a note of it in the log, but be careful because you may get to it before it's repaired or replaced. And what happened to the fridge? On Sun, Apr 19, 2009 at 2:41 PM, Rodger C. Chuck, I will keep an eye out for your small planesphere. As for the fridge, it gave up the ghost last fall and wasn't replaced. I think it would be inline to appropreate a some of the SPOC funds for a new one. Thanks Rodger. Maybe it's sitting somewhere and I just didn't notice it...hopefully. I sent Bruce a report on the broken shelf and copied Patrick. On Sun, Apr 19, 2009 at 6:28 PM, Rodger C. Fry <rcfry@comcast.net> wrote:

Bruce reports that he has completed a temporary repair to the drive switch box shelf.
My missing planisphere has turned-up! Thanks to Roger Butz for finding that little sucker!
Was it in pages of the Grim operating manual?

No. I had left it on the desk in the control room, and apparently Roger put his notebook of his on top of it. When he left, he scooped it up with his notebook. Remember, he left about an hour before we did. On Mon, Apr 20, 2009 at 10:07 AM, <erikhansen@thebluezone.net> wrote:
