Man, this sure caught my attention: http://news.yahoo.com/russian-scientist-claims-signs-life-spotted-venus-0703...
The pictures have started to emerge. I'd have to see the entire series; the before and after. A still shot is worthless in support of this claim. http://rt.com/news/alien-life-on-venus-485/
Random shapes. I saw an article that refutes the claims to life on Venus. In my bathroom there is a tile, the pattern on which reminds me of a sharks head. That doesn't mean it ever was a shark. Just my eyes and imagination playing in my mind. One of those random shapes. Siegfried On Mon, Jan 23, 2012 at 2:53 PM, Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> wrote:

I can only speculate that changes would be weather related. An atmosphere that heavy with temperatures that hight would surely produce small scale changes. On Mon, Jan 23, 2012 at 4:35 PM, Chuck Hards <chuck.hards@gmail.com> wrote:

Ziggy, actually I tend to agree with you. When I first read about this, I wondered, "How much does vodka play in this "discovery"? It could very well be that the shifting shapes are due to instability in the Venusian regolith, perhaps due to weather effects or geologic activity. That is probably the correct interpretation. But part of me thinks that human scientific attitudes toward alien life are totally chauvenistic, based on our own chemistry. I still like to think that we are scientific infants, when it comes to stuff like this. Here is one of my favorite sci-fi short stories. It will only take a minute or two to read: http://baetzler.de/humor/meat_beings.html

Well, I learned on Star Trek that we are bags of mostly water.

Correction: UGLY bags of mostly water. -----Original Message----- From: utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of erikhansen@thebluezone.net Sent: Tuesday, January 24, 2012 12:22 PM To: Utah Astronomy Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Life on Venus
Well, I learned on Star Trek that we are bags of mostly water.
Carl Sagan used to say that "Life is one of the more interesting properties of hydrogen...if you give it enough time." It occurs to me that everything (baryonic) is a property of hydrogen...if you give it enough time. Ugly bags of mostly water are a pretty nifty thing. Even though we are made of meat. Especially because we are made of meat. ;-) On Tue, Jan 24, 2012 at 2:06 PM, Kim <kimharch@cut.net> wrote:

Looks to me like one of the Avengers from Flight 19. BTW, regarding your story, I seem to remember a slab of Spam crawling across the kitchen counter. Now, of course, this was before refrigeration in our area. hehe lh On 1/23/2012 4:35 PM, Chuck Hards wrote:
