Hi Rob, I have the Olympus OM-2N camera with a "B" setting. Are the other settings 1 2 4 8 15 30 60 for the flash? I don't know if the camera has mirror lockup. What color negative 400 film do you recommend? I'm going to shoot some point and shoot pictures first to get more familiar with the camera. Thanks for the advice. Good luck with comet Bradfield. Debbie
Hi Deb The "B" is bulb and to keep the shutter open in this position use a locking cable release. The other settings 60,30,15,8,4,2 are fractional parts of a second. The "1" is a full second and they can be used with flash and will sync w/ the shutter. Mirror lock up is good but w/ exposures from 15 sec on, the vibration should damp out or use a piece of light cord tied around the camera and to the tripod to load the system and this helps damp the harmonics out. Bean bags are good to, but I think you have a stable GEM drive, so piggyback ought to be fine even w/o locking up the mirror. I use Fuji film and like their 400 speed film alot, but use what you can find from a major manufacturer. Do make sure to do a daylight frame for the lab tech., they don't know where dark ends and starts. We go up early Sunday (assuming we get clear weather again, cloudy now) and will shoot Bradfield overlooking Haleakala Crater. Aloha Rob
