Watson miscalculated? Can we trust nothing anymore? Must we stumble through the darkness without a guide? No chance of corona, bailey beads and forget I mentioned the diamond ring. 93% coverage still leaves plenty of sun.
Yes, a blinding amount if we're not careful. ________________________________ From: "jcarman6@q.com" <jcarman6@q.com> To: Utah Astronomy <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Thursday, May 10, 2012 12:39 AM Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Annular but not by much Watson miscalculated? Bailey Beads can be seen in an annular if you are near the edge of annularity, perhaps at Great Basin.

Everyone will be at the edge of annularity at third contact, isn't that right? I think the theory is if the moon grazes along the edge of the sun you may see Bailey Beads, it is near the edge longer, away from center line. The event is different from different locations, of course you sacrifice duration of max eclipse on the edge.
