Joe, Do you know when the photo was taken? If at 4:54 pm MDT Thursday, I would guess the star was GSC 4948-0140, magnitude 11.77, RA 12:31:12.86, Dec -0:24:02.1 . I get this from xephem. If it's a different time, tell me and I'll take another look. Jim
Hi Friends, if anyone is interested, here's a view I took of the moon through my little 8" Thursday night -- I would love to know what star that is by the right. It's similar to the photo the Deseret News ran with my article about the eclipse, because our photographer shot through my telescope. But this is one I took with a different DN digital camera than the one he was using. It's part of a series of views I made. Once I get a freeware stacking program working better, I may be able to provide a much nicer view. Best wishes, Joe
Hi, I'm amazed to get a response! I think it was much later than that, like about 8 p.m. -- I know the moon rose eclipsed that evening. Best wishes, Joe
So this would have been Thursday, May 15th, 2003 about 8pm MDT? On Monday, October 27, 2003, at 01:25 PM, Joe Bauman wrote:
