I like the idea of the automatic hot cold pixel detection. That's a nice feature. - Kurt
Hi gang, here's a story about the photo I took yesterday morning -- and the hideous experience I went through to get it: http://www.deseretnews.com/blogs/1,5322,10000034,00.html Thanks, Joe
I never noticed it until now but M-57 does look something like a flat tire... patrick p.s. Joe, have you considered carrying one of those new Personal Locator Beacons when you are in the wild? While not intended for non- life threatening situations like the one your described, they come in handy if the user is in danger. Unlike the old Emergency Locator Transmitters that just sent out an omnidirectional beam that was hard to track, PLB's broadcast the exact GPS coordinates of the unit's location to satellites that immediately forward those data on to search and rescue. I've got one for my plane which I keep in the truck when I'm not flying. On 22 Aug 2009, at 20:32, Joe Bauman wrote:

I'll never think of M57 the same way again! And that locator sounds like a great idea. Thanks, jb I never noticed it until now but M-57 does look something like a flat tire... patrick p.s. Kurt, Its a free program and works great for astro. I was using it for along time before switching over to IRIS, another free astro stacking program. David Canopus56 wrote:
