It turns out that the censor was none other than out illustrious president, Joan Carman. Obviously she cannot abide any dissent or open discussion. To think that an officer of SLAS would stoop to silencing a dues-paying member of the club is appalling. She claims she sent me a note that she had kicked me out of SLAS Talk when it happened months ago but I never saw such a note. I am astonished at this abuse of power and will file a complaint with Facebook. Meanwhile, of course, I am unfriending her for this must unfriendly, nasty and uncalled-for action. -- the astonished Joe Bauman Sent from my iPhone
What's even worse is that after this back-stabbing, Joan had the effrontery to ask my wife and me to meet her at lunch, where she solicited and received my advice on how to publish on Kindle! Is this not a wonderful display of good character and fair dealing? Sent from my iPhone

Perhaps I should not wade into the middle of this but curiosity is getting the better of me. As I am not on the Facebook group myself, would you care to share the subject of the dispute? Obviously there could be reasonable grounds to exclude a disruptive person but there is a wide gulf between astronomers arguing over Pluto's status as a planet and someone constantly posting campaign slogans for their favorite candidate. As list co-administrator, I would ask that this not be discussed on Utah-Astronomy. Utah-Astronomy has nothing to do with SLAS. I myself am not on Facebook, never have been, don't intend to be in the future. And at the moment I'm not a SLAS member, I haven't paid my yearly dues yet and my membership expired last month. Joe has expressed his opinion but I don't want any more names mentioned. Thanks! On Wed, Aug 3, 2016 at 8:18 AM, Joel Stucki <joel.stucki@gmail.com> wrote:

I ask mostly because my own membership in SLAS is up for renewal. I have seen some things I like very much and some things I do not care for. I will respect your wishes and not use this forum for such discussion. Joe if you want to answer me off list I am interested in what you have to share. Thank you Joel. SLAS has much to offer, but like any largish club, it can't please all of the people, all of the time. Everyone has to decide for themselves if they enjoy it or not. On Wed, Aug 3, 2016 at 9:22 AM, Joel Stucki <joel.stucki@gmail.com> wrote:
