Kurt, Are you aware of AAVSO, the American Association of Variable Star Observers (http://www.aavso.org)? While astrometry is not a particular interest of mine, a good friend has been an officer with the association for years, so I'm aware of what they do. They're set up to provide support and guidelines for doing astrometry and photometry. The observations reported by contributors are real honest-to-goodness science. Kurt, you might try Charlie Green. If you don't know him, he is a long-time SLAS member and I know that he has some interest in astrometry/photometry. I can also think of Jerry Foote. He has a private/professional observatory dedicated to this kind of work. While he's not in SLC (he lives just outside of Kanab) he may be some help to you. Wish I had the knowledge and time to pursue similar efforts.
