Re: [Utah-astronomy] Seeing @ Monte Cristo
That's another place! Really steady air and good transparency at Monte Cristo. More light pollution than Wolf Creek, both to the west. 500x in a 9" refractor, 300x in 6" refractor and 10" reflector to excellent effect!! I mean steady and crisp, arc second or better. Big reflectors have a lot of difficulty with seeing and I've never been able to use 1000x in a 20'', anywhere. Dave Bernson. Great day sleeping in Monte Cristo campground. Good water, too. ____________________________________________________________ Click for a wide selection of quality scales. http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL2131/fc/BLSrjnsEGFJbU3xBisMhJRQX1SGoQrxI...
I guess now would be a good time to mention that OAS will be at Monte Cristo August 19th thru 23rd. All astronomers are welcome to come and observe with us, even SLAS members :-) We have potluck dinners on Friday and Saturday at 6pm. We also have "tea" parties during the day (snacks, drinks and discussion).
