Anyone know what the weather is like at SPOC? I feel the need to get away from all this course work for a while and was thinking of coming out for the star party. Clear Sky says it should be good until around 11:00p.m. but we've had thunderstorms and some rain this afternoon. Just checking. Jay -- Jay Eads
Jay: There will be people there regardless of the weather. They will be glad to see you and eager to talk to you. You can leave your stuff home and take your car with the best gas mileage. It's a social event with telescopes on the side. If it's cloudy you can take a picture of a pretty sunset. Yeah, who wouldn’t want to talk to Jay, I’d love to go hang out, but man are my allergies bad lately, I’ll probably work on that infrared filtered flashlight I mentioned to jay, to use it with my night vision scope, hope you guys have a good one if you go On 2011-07-09 23:33, daniel turner wrote:

Weather is much better than it was an hour ago when a storm blew through. But still pretty cloudy. Satellite weather shows the back side of the current clouds just to the west but hard to say when it will arrive. I spoke the Rodger a few minutes ago. He is coming out and, as Daniel said, others are sure to be here as well if for no other reason than to socialize and get some dinner. Public also always show regardless of weather and it is always nice to talk astronomy with newbies. I will be headed over to SPOC shortly.
