Well.... If this discussion were happening in 1007 instead of 2007, isn't it likely we'd be speculating about what creatures might exist beyond the great oceans of the known world? Someone would speculate that the oceans were vast precisely for the purpose of keeping us separate from any "aliens" that might exist. Advance the timeline to 1507 and we now learn that man-like creatures with dark skins, strange languages and stranger customs had been discovered on distant shores. This causes some to say, "See? We are indeed created in His image." What will this conversation be like in 2507 or 3007? Will intersteller distances still feel so great? Will we be more flexible and generous in our interpretation of what "in His image" entails? Seth
