RE: [Utah-astronomy] Re: Private SLAS Star Party
Wedge Overlook is what I was given on the list of private star parties after the vote in January and is what is listed on the website calendar. -----Original Message----- From: David L Bennett [mailto:dlbennett@mac.com] Sent: Tuesday, May 07, 2002 15:45 To: utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Re: Private SLAS Star Party Kim Hyatt, Don Colton and I are heading down to the Wedge Overlook this weekend...I thought this was SLAS's official site for this May. I May be wrong. Dave
The only star party I know of this weekend is one at Bryce Canyon Saturday evening.
See http://planet.state.ut.us/starparties.html for details.

Is there going to be a private star party this weekend? Where?
Sorry, I know this is a public forum, but I can't get into the official SLAS site and I didn't see a May private party mentioned in the SLAS newsletter for April on Patrick's unofficial site.

Bryce Canyon is a star party that Patrick has done once a month in the past. He gives a lecture, and any SLAS members that want to participate in a public star party can get free entrance and camping at the group campground (Patrick, feel free to correct me if I have interpreted this incorrectly.) Technically, it is not a SLAS activitiy, but SLAS members enjoy the perks, so we particpate occasionally. I will be out of town, so I won't be at any of the parties :( . Hi Jo et all, As far as I know the only one this year that has any official SLAS connection is the one in August. All the rest (like the one this weekend) are sponsored by the Utah Museum of Natural History and Bryce Canyon. Of course, anyone with a scope is welcome to help out at any of the Bryce and Snow Canyon events I do. Cheers! Patrick :-) Jo wrote:
