I went out observing last night but only saw a couple of Leonids. The real show for me was Saturn. You could drive a truck through the Cassini Division last night. The Orion Nebula looked nice too. Iota Cassiopeia, Gamma Arieis, Alpha Piscium, Gamma Ceti, Zeta Orionis, Sigma Orionis, Theta Auriga, Castor, and Rigel were all split nicely in my 4" refractor. It is nice to have good seeing for a change. Did anybody else seen any Leonids last night? Debbie
Where did you go, Deb? I was thinking about heading out to Knolls. But I was too tired, so I unpacked my telescope and tripod and went inside to take a nap. It looked like it was going to be a truly fine night, too. -- Joe
Deb, I crawled out of bed at 2:30 and spent about 10 minutes outside; only saw one Leonid in that time heading south of the radiant; some high thin clouds over Lindon, the seeing at my house was rather poor, and not worth losing any more sleep over. If I get any time off this holiday season I may have to come visit you down there for a little winter observing. Rich --- UTAHDEB@aol.com wrote:
