RE: [Utah-astronomy] Bad science/Fun flick
Well, what do you expect when the movie was based partly on a book by none other than Art Bell. :) ---------- From: Patrick Wiggins Sent: Monday, May 31, 2004 7:18 PM To: utah astronomy listserve Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Bad science/Fun flick Just got back from seeing The Day After Tomorrow. Funny how they had the ISS rotating (like the wheel station in 2001) yet the crew were always able to look out and see the Earth in the same position in the porthole. Plus, they were also able to see the entire hemisphere of the Earth. Pretty good trick from less than 400 km up. Ok, so the plot was predictable, the science was weak (intended understatement) and I'm sure any climatologists in the audience were having a good laugh, but I must say some of the special effects really made the movie for me. The Dave is that owns a Coronado 90 and a Celestron 11? We needed to get in touch with him, and I cannot remember his last name, or even if Dave is the right first name. In my next life, I'm going to insist that I be given an upgrade in my memory.... Thanks, Jo Grahn
Are you thinking of Tom Watson? On May 31, 2004, at 9:38 PM, Josephine Grahn wrote:

Thank you all! I appreciate your help. It seems as though I may need more than just a little more memory in the next life. Perhaps they will throw in a new motherboard to go with it. Jo Grahn At 11:14 PM 5/31/2004 -0600, you wrote:
