I'm trying to find the requirements for the Girl Scout Aerospace badge and I'm told they are listed in "The Official Junior Girl Scout Badge Book"? Anyone here happen to have a copy? Kind of odd that I can easily find requirements for the Boy Scout badges online but the ones for the Girl Scouts (at least not the Aerospace badge) don't seem to be online. Thanks, patrick
You're too old to join the girl scouts, Patrick. Do you really want the Aerospace badge that bad? Or is it for the cookies? ;-) On Thu, Mar 1, 2012 at 5:06 PM, Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com>wrote:

Thanks Jo. That's what I was looking for. While the "Sky Search" is more appropriate to astronomy, being I pilot I was trying to find out if something I heard recently is true and I'm afraid you have confirmed it. The Boy Scouts have a badge in which they are encouraged to "Take a flight in an aircraft". It would appear the Girl Scouts are only told to fly paper planes. Frankly I'm disappointed. I guess that helps explain why only 6% of pilots are female. patrick On 01 Mar 2012, at 18:55, Josephine Grahn wrote:

I have two - daughters, not wings - plus a granddaughter. I have to admit, you are right. -----Original Message----- From: utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Barrett Sent: Friday, March 02, 2012 8:50 AM To: 'Utah Astronomy' Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Official Junior Girl Scout Badge Book? Josephine, off the list subject, but, as a little boy in SFO, I can remember watching the PanAM China Clippers taking off from the bay and climbing just enough to allow them to exit the bay by flying _under_ the Golden Gate Bridge. Now that was about as awesome as it got at that point in time for me..... 73, lh On 3/1/2012 6:55 PM, Josephine Grahn wrote:
