If anyone is planning on buying a small, short-focus refractor guidescope or visual telescope this summer, contact me first. I'll be putting together a few 60mm and 80mm short-to-medium focal length refractors from parts on-hand and will be looking to part with a couple of them. Quality will of course be excellent. Check out the 3" "finder" on the Ealing at SPOC. I built that one, using an excellent, vintage Jaegers objective generously donated by Siegfried. Quality will be similar, except I am installing adjustable precision focusers on this summer's batch. 2" Antares Crayford on the 80mm, 1.25" all-metal R&P on the 60mm.
Hey Chuck, Let me know what the cost would be. I'm using a cheap refractor and wouldn't mind a decent one. Will do. I'm still pricing them now, but as soon as I have all the components I will post prices. I may be doing a couple of 70mm short-focus refractors, as well. In addition to the CGEM, I picked up a new mini-lathe. These refractors will be the lathe's "baptism". On 5/10/10, Dale Wilson <dalel2112@yahoo.com> wrote:
