Rich Tenney and I have each received emails with viruses attached, with list members addresses in the "From" line (2 different addresses). Obviously these addresses have been pirated since we know the true owners and neither are the type of person who would do this. Make sure your anti-virus software is up to date and functioning, and be careful. Looks like a list member got infected and the virus got ahold of their address book. I assume that you alerted the list members? If not, please let me know if I am one of them. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chuck Hards" <chuckhards@yahoo.com> To: "Utah-Astro" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, July 22, 2005 7:11 PM Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Virus alert | Rich Tenney and I have each received emails with | viruses attached, with list members addresses in the | "From" line (2 different addresses). Sorry, I meant to say the infected list members. Well, that doesn't come out right, either. I meant to say those list members whose email addresses were apparently pirated. There. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kim Hyatt" <kimharch@cut.net> To: "Utah Astronomy" <utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Saturday, July 23, 2005 9:37 AM Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Virus alert |I assume that you alerted the list members? Hi Kim, yes, the person who's address was pirated in my case does know. Rich received it from a different list address and I can't speak for him. In my case the person who's ID got used is on a Mac, and their system tests clean, so it's clearly just a case of ID theft and their system wasn't involved at all. --- Kim Hyatt <kimharch@cut.net> wrote:
