Hi Dave, Karen and I went to the annular ecclipse in 1994 in El Paso, Texas. We combined it with a trip to the Texas Star Party. We probably wouldn't have gone to either by itself but we were glad we went. Many SLAS members went just to the ecclipse and I never heard one say he regretted it. The "Ring of Fire" effect isn't as impressive as the corona but its well worth seeing! I can' imagine someone not going when it's so close. Deloy Pierce
