Anybody planning on attending the Great Basin Astronomy Festival next month? http://www.nps.gov/grba/planyourvisit/2010-astronomy-festival.htm
I've been to this once a few years ago, the skies there are pretty good, close to Bryce in quality especially if you can get up in altitude. I might consider it especially that the weather forecast for Bryce during the festival is heading south. Still time for it to change but it looks like rain is moving in. I really hope this changes, don't anyone buy any new equipment! Be careful about assuming bad Bryce weather. It usually clears up by 9:30 PM even with afternoon thunder showers. The latest forecasts from the Bryce's rangers show some thunderstorm activity Friday but clearing by night. The rest of the nights also look good. -----Original Message----- From: utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utah-astronomy-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Robert Taylor Sent: Thursday, July 01, 2010 3:05 PM To: 'Utah Astronomy' Subject: Re: [Utah-astronomy] Great Basin Astronomy Festival I've been to this once a few years ago, the skies there are pretty good, close to Bryce in quality especially if you can get up in altitude. This is over a month away, folks, forecasts are kind of useless this far ahead. It is firmly entrenched in the monsoon season, but I remember a lot of cloudless, sunny skies in August in my half-century in the Great Basin. On 7/1/10, Joe Bauman <josephmbauman@yahoo.com> wrote:
