Planetary grouping 5:15am Sat and Sun
Although clouds will probably intervene, at 5:15am tomorrow and Sunday, the following solar system bodies will be above the horizon at once: Moon, Venus (at 90az), Saturn (at 270az), Pluto and Uranus. Saturn sets and than at 5:30am with the Sun at -10 degs alt, the Moon, Venus and Mercury (at 90az), Pluto and Uranus will be above the horizon. At 5:55am with the Sun at -5 degs, the Moon (-6.5mag), Venus(-3.9 mag), Mercury (1.0), Jupiter (-2.1mag), Mars (at 90az), Saturn (at 270az), Pluto and Uranus will all be above the horizon. For imaging, probably at 5:25am, the grouping of the Moon, Venus and Mercury within a 10 deg box at 90 deg az is the most doable wide field DSLR picture opportunity. Jupiter might also be possible in one grouping at 5:55am, but considering the Sun's -5deg alt and Jupiter's 1 deg alt, it is unlikely that four planetary bodies could be imaged. Mars and Jupiter are at a close conjunction with 1/2 a degree, but Mars is too faint to image considering the -5 deg Sun altitude. All of this is dependent on a weather hole, which the ClearSky clock says should roll in between 5 and 6 am tomorrow morning. This is probably a weather cloud out observing frame, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. Clear Skies - Kurt
