You must admit the absurdity of acting as if inviting the public to a known disease vector for West Nile virus is a life-saving effort. I have no doubt that most infected pools in Salt Lake County are things like junkyards with old tires that have accumulated water, not large lakes where the public visits to gaze at stars. The absurdity of this Joe is that you are using the issue of public safety to push your agenda of the fact that you hate SLAS and want to cause as much harm to the club as you can. Because I believe you got your feelings hurt when you were not doing your job as vice president and rage-quit mid term. Maybe you can convince me otherwise with more concen for general public and not just attacking SLAS people and events on a fotum that doesn't have anything to do with SLAS. But that's just what I see from your current and past actions. I sorry if I'm out of line with the forum rules, I just had to say something. OK folks, we can certainly discuss just about anything on this forum, hopefully related to astronomy. *Keep the discussions civil and do not attack anyone personally.* The next person who does will find themselves on the moderated list, meaning Rich or I will have to approve your posts before they show-up. I write this with my List Administrator's hat firmly in place. I posted the KSL news story mostly as a warning to anyone heading out to SPOC for the remainder of the season, to apply their 100% DEET solution. I hate mosquito bites, even if just the plain-old non-diseased variety! On Thu, Aug 23, 2018 at 5:42 PM Joe Bauman via Utah-Astronomy < utah-astronomy@mailman.xmission.com> wrote:

I just visited the largest telescope inn the US, the Hale 200 inch. They have signs posted that caution needs to be exercised due to rattlesnakes. They have NOT closed the observatory to the public. Rattlesnakes are pretty dangerous critters! See facebook for a photo of the sign. Thank you, Jayme. When you said I quit in a rage that wasn’t true. I was sorrowing about the nasty stuff that went on at a board meeting. Another correction is that I truly worry about the exposure of visitors to that potentially fatal dusease, such as children who can’t decide for themselves and others who aren’t aware of the danger when they show up in shorts and-or short sleeves —which is what most people wear in the summer. This is a deep concern of mine. If baseball games are held there and the skatebiard park. I apologize for saying your opinion was stupid. — Joe Sent from Yahoo Mail for iPhone On Thursday, August 23, 2018, 7:49 PM, Jamie Bradley <astro@jamiebradley.com> wrote: I apologise for the post.
