Interesting reading on the butterfly pattern - https://www.windows2universe.org/sun/activity/butterfly.html I'd never heard of this before. I photographed most of these sunspots over the weekend - http://smithplanet.com/astro/solarsystem/solar/5-2011/final.jpg Sunspot group 11226 (lower left) triggered an M-class flare shortly afterward. The sun is definitely waking up. Jared
