Misc photo montage from SPOC Ealing 10/21/2005 Mars Saturn Star Test
This is a montage of some beginner astrophoto pics I took with the SPOC Ealing last night and early this morning. Not up to the usual group standards, but - http://members.csolutions.net/fisherka/astronote/observed/20051022MarsSaturn... - Canopus56(Kurt) __________________________________ Yahoo! Looks like the Ealing is out of collimation or hasn't cooled down properly. -----Original Message----- From: utah-astronomy-bounces+djcolton=piol.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utah-astronomy-bounces+djcolton=piol.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Canopus56 Sent: Saturday, October 22, 2005 6:01 PM To: Utah Astronomy List Serv Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Misc photo montage from SPOC Ealing 10/21/2005Mars Saturn Star Test This is a montage of some beginner astrophoto pics I took with the SPOC Ealing last night and early this morning. I haven't had the time to pull out Suiter to lookup the significance of the difference between the outside and inside focus. The out-of-roundness is probably a continuing problem with a loose focusing tube. --- "Don J. Colton" <djcolton@piol.com> wrote:

Hi all, thanks to Kurt, I have been able to figure out the proper orientation of the Mars view I posted. I used the Mars profiler he pointed out -- it's at http://SkyandTelescope.com/observing/objects/planets/javascript/mars.htm -- Using it, I plugged in the time of my photo. 2:35 a.m. on Sunday morning, or in UTC terms, 06:35, 10-23-2005. Now I know I must have been backwards and standing on my head! Joe
Another stupid mistake! I need a copy desk to look over my emails. I took it at 12:35 a.m., not 2:35 a.m. The UTC time is correct. -- Joe
