Thanks to Paul Ricketts of the UofU Astronomy club for calling this to my attention: http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/astro/index-e.html __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com
The EOS 20Da is a great camera but it is no longer available. It was designed for astrophotography and only 4000 were made. You can still get the 20D but it is lacking many of the best features. -----Original Message----- From: utah-astronomy-bounces+djcolton=piol.com@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:utah-astronomy-bounces+djcolton=piol.com@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Chuck Hards Sent: Tuesday, December 19, 2006 4:17 PM To: Utah-Astro Subject: [Utah-astronomy] Re: Digital camera Thanks to Paul Ricketts of the UofU Astronomy club for calling this to my attention: http://www.canon.co.jp/Imaging/astro/index-e.html __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? The content of the site is pretty generic. The camera in the photo isn't specifically referenced on any of the associated pages I've read so-far, but I haven't read all of them yet. It appears to be mostly just good, basic information on digital astro-imaging for the beginner. --- "Don J. Colton" <djcolton@piol.com> wrote:

What are the advantages of a dedicated astro-camera vs. a more conventional camera that is used for astro-imaging? Filtered monochromatic chips and heavily-processed stacked images vs. color chips? The convenience of the Canon/Nikon vs. a dedicated astro setup with filter wheel seems like a no-brainer. What's the trade-off? Sensitivity? Time spent at the keyboard? __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com

Oh, it will, if the family stands VERY far away, and holds very still... ;) --- Rob Ratkowski Photography <ratkwski@hawaii.rr.com> wrote:
