I received an email from S&T today indicating their entire index from 1941 to 2009 is available as a free download. After downloading the 2.6 MB file it opened as an Excel file. Wondering just how complete it might be and knowing that our own Chuck Hards has been in S&T I did a search for the name "Hards" and got three hits, item numbers 28823, 29537 and 30113 with details for each item. So, Chuck, is that accurate? Or have you been in more than 3 times? Find the index at: http://www.skyandtelescope.com/news/80282957.html patrick
Yep, three times. Bill Kelley was the only other SLAS member to author or co-author 3 S&T articles, IIRC. That makes a total of 6 for SLAS. Patrick, I believe you have some photo credits, yes? On 10/22/10, Patrick Wiggins <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> wrote:

I had a letter to the editor myself, and my wife has a "Tele-tip" credit for her idea of using body pillow cases as breathable scope covers. Who took that pic of you putting the light shield on the parking light at SPOC 30 years ago? The one where you are on top of that incredibly tall ladder? (It took a sky-diver to climb that thing, lol!) On 10/22/10, Patrick <paw@wirelessbeehive.com> wrote:

No picture credits for me, just a letter to the editor entitle "Breaking up is hard to do". And, no, nothing to do with my personal life. :)

I think you are referring to image #25 here: http://www.slas.us/patrick2/slas/SPOCEARLY.HTML I don't know who took the picture. My guesses are either Bruce Grim or you, Chuck. patrick
I see the guy in that pic had hair. I don't remember taking the picture. But then there's a lot I don't remember from the '70's, LOL. Maybe it was Jerry Montgomery? The S&T shot was a crop, or perhaps a telephoto shot because it only showed you at the top of the ladder. Dave was obscured on the backside, IIRC.
