I picked up a new instrument for my plane yesterday and while talking to the technician I learned he likes lasers. A lot. He even builds them. He referred to his 100mw laser as one of his weaker lasers. I asked about his strongest and he talked about punching holes through razor blades. Yikes. Turns out he's also an astronomy buff so I suggested he might want to bring some of his lasers to a SPOC star party this year and he agreed. Could be interesting. :)
Did you see this, demoed at the TED conference this week? http://gizmodo.com/5470148/this-is-a-mosquito-getting-killed-by-a-laser Anti mosquito laser system! Dan On Feb 13, 2010, at 1:41 AM, Patrick Wiggins wrote:
