Joe, The point you are highlighting is a piece of sunlit terrain seen in more detail in the Palomar 200 inch image: http://www.astro.caltech.edu/palomar/lcross.html There is also a video mpg file at the bottom of that page. Here are some notes I prepared regarding topomasking by M1. The impact was way down in a hole that was well masked from Earthview.
