I was able to detect Comet Garradd (C/2009 P1) as a faint smudge from urban light polluted SLC skies using a 4.25 Meade ETX. Synching was Enif, M15 and then mag 6.6 SAO star 106829, which was about 1 deg celestial n.w. of Garradd. Looks like a fun one to follow for the next few months. Clear Skies - Kurt
