We'll be using the Brandt lens. Siegfried is having Guy machine an adapter which will allow the use of the Clark lens on special occasions but most of the time my old Brandt lens will be used. The Brandt is 200mm diameter and has a 3,360mm focal length (f/16.8). For those who might not know, the 4th (and the 11th) are level 1 (entry level) refractor classes I'll be teaching at SPOC. Open to all, regardless of astronomy club affiliation but by reservation only. 4 slots remain for the class on the 4th while 2 remain for the 11th. Contact Mark Bloomenthal at markbloomenthal@yahoo.com if interested in registering. Patrick

Physical setting circles or digital circles on the pier mount? - Kurt __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com

Hint: The same kind of circles that came with the Clark when it was built in 1915. Part of the reason the refractor is so easy to use is that the Refractor House is a computer free zone. :-) Patrick

I'll take that as kind-of-a 'yes' since when they were originally shipped, they had "dial" circles in the original pier. http://www.astro.ufl.edu/icons/tobs2sml.gif http://www.astro.ufl.edu/icons/tobs3sml.gif - in - http://www.astro.ufl.edu/tobhist.html - C __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
