Hi Friends, if anyone is interested, here's a view I took of the moon through my little 8" Thursday night -- I would love to know what star that is by the right. It's similar to the photo the Deseret News ran with my article about the eclipse, because our photographer shot through my telescope. But this is one I took with a different DN digital camera than the one he was using. It's part of a series of views I made. Once I get a freeware stacking program working better, I may be able to provide a much nicer view. Best wishes, Joe Joe Bauman science & military reporter Deseret News bau@desnews.com (801) 237-2169
Joe & Jim, Just to clarify, this in regards to a photo taken by Joe during the lunar eclipse back in May this year and not a shot taken this last thursday, correct? I was a little confused for a moment but then saw the date (May 18th) this was originally sent. Confused and loving every moment, Dave Bennett On Sunday, May 18, 2003, at 02:54 PM, Joe Bauman wrote:

Hello, this was a note I sent out in May, I believe. Jim has just now responded to it, kindly offering to help me identify the star. If I am not mistaken, I took the view about 10 or 10:15 p.m. on May 15. Best wishes, Joe
I went into the list admin approval area today and found a few messages languishing there, including Joe's moon shot from last May; that's why it took so long to make it to the list -- it got overlooked. Normally anything over 40K requires list moderator approval (which I now share with Cynthia). Sorry for the confusion. -Rich --- David L Bennett <dlbennett@mac.com> wrote:
