Suppressing mirror flop in 10" GEM mounted Newt
Chuck, I assume that what you are talking about is something like this page on doing a clipectomy - http://www.lefevre.darkhorizons.org/lxd55/clipectomy.htm - Kurt _______________________________________________ Sent via CSolutions - http://www.csolutions.net
No, not exactly, although that might be a viable option. Also, there is a shim procedure for using the silicone. You don't just plop the mirror on 3 "dollops". The silicone by itself is not sufficient for astrometric applications. It was developed for visual, "hardware-store" telescopes. I am uncomfortable with this discussion in this format- precise communications are impossible and I lack the time to put a good computer presentation together. We should meet face-to-face with the hardware in-hand. Then I could show you my custom cell as well. On 8/13/07, Kurt Fisher <fisherka@csolutions.net> wrote:
